Homework week 23

Due Friday

  • Good copy of play
  • POI project for Science Fair
Study for Maths test on Tuesday 12th (changed from 7th June)

  • remember to study your maths dictionary
  • practice angles, 3D shapes, triangles, coordinate planes and circles. Use your dictionary to help you.
  • Remember what we talked about on Monday. Part of the test will be: make a prism and pyramid 3D shape from a net, name, how many faces, how many edges, how many vertices?
Lotta, our school nurse will be having two health talks with the girls this and next week. We are trying to book a time for the boys as well, but no time as has been set yet.

On Friday, we hope to see you at our Science Fair, between 10.40-12.30!

Next week we will go to Slottsskogen on Monday for a sports day. Students will need to bring a packed lunch with them and appropriate clothing for run around outside. If anyone wants to join us, please let me know. This is a full school event, which means all teachers and students are going to Slottsskogen this day.

On Thursday next week we will be canoeing all day. We'll leave school straight away and head out to Vättlefjälls kanotpool. There we'll get the canoes and life-wests and head out on the lake. It will be me, Camilla, Peter, Joel, John Stanich and Jim Thompson. Three of these teachers are PE teachers, and two are swimming instructors as well. We will be canoeing together, and we will not be out on open water. We will be in pretty small lakes with lots of little islands. If you want to have a look at the lakes and the surrounding, click here. There will be 3 students in each canoe. We will then head out to a nice island and stop for lunch. We will bring a grill and hot dogs and buns for everyone. Students only need to bring a snack and something to drink. Depending on the weather and how brave they are, they can bring swimming clothes.

A great day of Orienteering

taking it easy on the whale
Last Friday all of Year 5 had a day of orienteering in slottskogen. Everyone was put into mixed groups of four with some people having to use a mix of Swedish and English to communicate with their group. Each group had to find 10 spots on the map and take a photo of their whole group in front. We have requested photos from the students, so as soon as I get some photos I'll post them up.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL SONG

Hear the sound of school bell ring
Only meaning one important thing (Hey!)
SCHOOLZ OUT!
We’re all getting outta here today!

Hear us all singing straight in key
To our version of "Green Day’s Holiday"
  Guess what? (Hey!)
We’re all having so much fun today!

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
On holiday

Can’t wait ‘till summer starts (Hey!)
Then we’re free to do what we want (Hey!)
And we can chill out every other day!

 I’m gonna miss ISGR
And everyone who’s made us get this far (Hey!)
Friends, Teachers we will miss you all!

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
On holiday

(Random dancing during interval)

Language outside

Yesterday we spent the morning working outside in the sun. We had a great time sitting on the rocks, grass and even in the trees! After reading time (DEAR), we had some fun warm-up activites to get us ready for writing and performing some short plays.
