LAST DAY OF SCHOOL SONG

Hear the sound of school bell ring
Only meaning one important thing (Hey!)
SCHOOLZ OUT!
We’re all getting outta here today!

Hear us all singing straight in key
To our version of "Green Day’s Holiday"
  Guess what? (Hey!)
We’re all having so much fun today!

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
On holiday

Can’t wait ‘till summer starts (Hey!)
Then we’re free to do what we want (Hey!)
And we can chill out every other day!

 I’m gonna miss ISGR
And everyone who’s made us get this far (Hey!)
Friends, Teachers we will miss you all!

I beg to dream and differ from the hollow lies
This is the dawning of the rest of our lives
On holiday

(Random dancing during interval)

Language outside

Yesterday we spent the morning working outside in the sun. We had a great time sitting on the rocks, grass and even in the trees! After reading time (DEAR), we had some fun warm-up activites to get us ready for writing and performing some short plays.

coming events and week 19 in review

At 2.30pm last Friday I sat down  and thought about how good it felt to have completed and gotten through most of the events and disruptions this Spring. It was nice to feel that the only things we had left was no school on the 17 & 18 of May,...our visit to  MYP 6 on the 24th of May,...Orienteering day with LPO 5 on the 31st May.....It was at this point that it dawned on me that we STILL have so much to do between now and the end of the year! So here is a list of the things (so far planned) to come;

  • (week 20) 17 & 18 of May, the school is closed
  • (week 21) Transition Day; Between 9.30-11.30 all of year five will go up and visit MYP 6 so that the students get a feel for the other school and meet the year 6 teachers.
  • (week 22) Orienteering; on the 31 May PYP and LPO 5 will be teaming up in Slottsskogen for a day of orienteering and fun.
  • (week 23) 8 June; PYP 5 will be having a Science Fair to show off our projects from our latest Inquiry unit. All are welcome!
  • (week24) Last day performance by year 5 at the last day of school assembly on 15 June.

Week 19 in review:

Year 5 had a HUGE week last week. On Monday we won all of our three games at the football tournament, this qualified us for the 'gold finals' on the Friday. Then on Thursday we spent most of the day rehearsing for the spring show. We were all back in the afternoon to sell drinks and cakes to audience. Then after a quick fire three weeks of training for our play it was our turn to perform . Even with all the stress of stage fright, forgotten lines, broken  props and lost scripts everyone had a good time and performed very well.

On Friday we all meet at Heden extra early for our first game of the gold finals. In the first game, the other school had a bit of luck to score two goals to our one after we had the ball most of the game. We ended up losing the last two games to some very good teams. To our credit we played hard and fair and only let in a few goals. Everyone looked tired from a long week and from a late night on Thursday but I think they finished on Friday feeling happy that they all had tried their best and had fun in the process.

Climbing

Last Friday we had such a great day climbing we could of stayed other few hours. A big thank you to Caroline's dad for taking a day off work to help us out and to our instructor John for all his help.
